Barolo is a symphony of tradition and terroir, embodying the pinnacle of winemaking craftsmanship.🍷

The Estate

Gigi Pira, legendary exponent of the traditional Barolo, created his wines by assembling grapes from his own plots of Cannubi, San Lorenzo and Via Nuova. Since 1980, the continuity of the Pira legacy has been guaranteed by Chiara Boschis.

In the vineyard the garden is tended according to the organic principles (certified since the 2014 harvest). In the cellar she managed to refresh and refine the technique, maintaining nonetheless the family approach. Production is limited to Estate grown grapes, giving birth to 40,000 bottles per year on average.

The Wine

Cannubi is undoubtedly the most famous Barolo vineyard. The composition of the soil and the perfect southern exposure of the plot give the grapes produced here an extraordinary opulence and refinement at the same time.

The smell ranges from sweet, ripe fruit, cherries, plums to oriental spices, accompanied by the classic balsamic note that distinguishes it (mint and eucalyptus). On the palate the nectar is caressing the tongue, with firm and elegant tannins. The finish is long, standing on a fine, saline thread.
